Hey guys,

TeamSpeak 3 (TS3) has been released. It's just a beta, but considering how long we've had to live with TS2, a beta is still big news! There's so much traffic to their site right now that they've simply got a temporary holding page up.

Now, because the TeamSpeak site is down I can't access the rest of their site, including any change logs that have been made different from TS2, so it's actually impossible for me to tell you what exactly has changed. But, thanks to the wonders of the Google cache, I can tell you the following that is confirmed:

    * The license remains the same -- servers will still be free, for non-profit use. Guilds and clans can finally move away from the draconian licensing of Ventrilo! HOORAY!
    * Sound quality should be higher -- I remember some mention of codec changes? That was always the problem with TS2 -- it sounded like ass.
    * There are Linux and Mac releases -- unlike Ventrilo, TeamSpeak 3 has Mac and Linux ports from the get-go.

With that being said, would you guys like to convert our current TS2 server to a TS3 beta one? It is a big difference, there are more features and the voice quality is HIGHER QUALITY. It is only an additional $3.50 ($6.95 total) extra just to upgrade to a 20 slot public TS3 server. Our current TS2 20 public server is $3.45. Would you guys just like to wait until the full release comes out?

Let's try it!  I want to see if they added DirectX Plugin support or something like Vent.  Features like Compression for the channel would be great for people with &*%#ty mics (everyone is at the same level, etc).

Okay - waiting for more responses. We need people to donate at least 6.95$ so we can test it out for a month. If the whole majority likes it - we will cancel our subscription with our TS2 server and continue to pay for the new TS3 subscription. Okay?

When you install TS3 - add [SeF] TeamSpeak Server to your bookmark. You can do this by pressing Ctrl + B on your keyboard and copying the following image:

Guys start downloading and installing teamspeak 3....our TS2 will shutdown soon. TS3 is continuously being improved. The new server patch beta3 is nice. We will set up a tutorial for those of you slow people ^.^
